Must-have for exploring feminist theory!

I bought this for my 2000-level feminism class, and it's generated many lively discussions in my class. I'm also enjoying reading it on my own, however. It's perfect if you want to get to know feminist theory as it existed in the 80's and 90's. Gives a good, solid variety of feminist theorists, from Judith Butler to Audre Lorde; phenomonological, radical, post-modern, and psychoanalytical theorists. The difficulty of the readings also varies; some of the articles are difficult to follow without a philosophical background, while others are accessible to those new to feminist thought. Highly recommend! A great starting anthology.

Global Cold War Literatures offers a unique look at the multiple ways in which writers from Asia, Africa, Europe and North and South America addressed the military conflicts, revolutions, propaganda wars and ideological debates of the era.

About the Author

Andrew Hammond is a Senior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Brighton, UK. In both research and teaching, he has specialised in Cold War fiction, postcolonial writing and cross-cultural representation. His publications include Cold War Literature: Writing the Global Conflict (2006), The Debated Lands: British and American Representations of the Balkans (2007) and British Literature and the Balkans: Themes and Contexts (2010).

About the Author

Stephanie Craft is Associate Professor of Journalism at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Before earning a doctorate in Communication from Stanford University, she worked as a newspaper journalist in California, Arkansas, and Washington.

Charles N. Davis is the dean of Grady College at the University of Georgia, and is the former executive director for the National Freedom of Information Coalition (NFOIC), headquartered at the School. In 2008, Davis was named the Scripps Howard Foundation National Journalism Teacher of the Year.

This book covered the basics of journalism in a decent fashion. It didn't say much about the drawbacks, failures, or transgressions of journalists. Next to nothing about expected pay. And it had too many Missouri School of Journalism examples.

About the Author

Karen Golden-Biddle is Everett W Lord Distinguished Faculty Scholar and Professor of Organizational Behavior at Boston University School of Management. She currently serves as Senior Associate Dean. Karen received her PhD from Case Western Reserve University. Her research interests focus on large-scale organizational change, cultural dynamics and micro-processes in change, and health system transformation. She also examines the process of theorizing in field-based research.

Jane E. Dutton is the Robert l. Kahn Distinguished University Professor of Business Administration and Psychology at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. She is currently Associate Director of the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship. Jane received her Ph.D from Northwestern University. Her research interests focus on organizations and compassion, high quality connections at work, job crafting and the dynamics of positive identities.
