Review
""Challenging Fronteras does exactly what it sets out to do: it challenges the Black/White approach to the study of ethnicity and identity in the U.S. while correcting stereotypes and providing accurate, in-depth information about U.S. Latino groups. "Challenging Fronteras should serve as a valuable aid to those who want to integrate Latino studies into their upper-level undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in ethnic studies, Latino studies, Latino literature, sociology, economics, social work, and other social science courses."
-"Transformations
"This is an important volume....It contains much good, current, and interesting information on many of the 'minority' groups and issues covered."
-"Journal of American Ethnic History
""Challenging Fronteras is an excellent sociological study of the difficulties encountered by the various ethnic groups that fall under the umbrella of Latinas and Latinos in the United States....This would be an excellent teaching text."
-"NWSA Journal
""Challenging Fronteras is a thought-provoking, useful anthology."
-Debra A. Castillo, "Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispanicos
"This work is highly recommended."
-"Journal of the West
