An excellent idea

The very fact of this encyclopedia's existence is an excellent idea. So far as I know there is no comparable encyclopedia in scope and quality of American- Jewish men. There of course should be. The short biographies that I read were well- written and informative.
In fact reading through the work I had a real sense of the variety and richness of American Jewish life. A very valuable work of reference.
