About the Author
Jackie Turton has taught criminology and sociology at Essex University since 1995 following a career in the health service. She has undertaken qualitative research for the Home Office and Department of Health.

I've read the majority of the available texts on female sex offenders (Female Sexual Abuse of Children by Elliott, Sexually Aggressive Women by Anderson et al, Women who Sexually Abuse Children by Ford, Women who Sexually Abuse Children: from research to clinical practice by Saradjian) and this one is an excellent discussion of the social and cultural issues involved with society's continual disavowal of the problem.
